US Milk tainted with rBGH

If you have not already seen the documentary The Corporation, I strongly recommend that you do so. It's got some very chilling revelations about the US food industry and I found this among the most alarming.

There's a drug called Prosilac that is sold to cattle farmers in the US. It is a Bovine Growth Hormone that increases a cow's milk output, and hence the farmer's profit. It is produced by corporate giant, Monsanto. As it turns out, extensive research in Canada has shown that it greatly increases ones risk for cancer and other serious health defects. Before bringing it before the US Food and Drug Administration, Monsanto conducted human toxicity tests on rats for 3 months and found complications that it did not fully disclose. Congress rubber stamped it and sold it. Subsequent investigative reports were squashed before they became public.

It has been estimated that roughly 1/4 of the milk in the US had Prosilac in it. If you live in the US, or are going to be going there anytime soon, I STRONGLY recommend that you guys do everything you can to ensure that the milk you're drinking isn't from cows who're being injected with rBGH. I'm not sure if milk labels there say anything about whether the milk includes any hormones (I really doubt they do), but as a precaution, I would skip milk altogether and take other forms of diary products for calcium and such. This is a very serious issue and within a few years we will likely see the mass effects of this hormone on people.

Please take this seriously as it is not a joke. The UK also agreed with Canada that rBGH is very unsafe and has been banned in both countries.
